Primary Position Objectives:
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, overseeing, and integrating safety and security programs for the Center.
Position Responsibilities
32 hours/bi-weekly
Salary $20.75-$20.76/hourly
Ensure and enforce all laws, rules and policies within his/her scope of authority
Foot patrol all assigned areas and remain alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions
Aid and assist visitors, student employees and staff in every way possible
Perform building security and safety checks
Receive complaints and perform appropriate investigations
Provide transportation service as needed
Investigate vehicle accidents at the Center
Issue visitor passes and temporary parking permits
Perform main entrance duty
Assist staff in quelling disturbances
Prepare written accident reports and other reports as required
Coordinate recruiting, selecting, and training of security cadets
Participate in preparation and enforcement of Center’s safety and fire prevention program
Conduct daily briefing with security cadets that cover assignments, proper dress, and procedures
Provide written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained
Provide vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic
Adhere to required property control policies and procedures
Work towards meeting performance standard goals
Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), LifeSkills Connection's policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures
Demonstrate and abide by LifeSkills Connection’s core values and operating principles
Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices
Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily
Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement
Model, mentor, monitor appropriate Career Success Standards
Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory; Failure to participate may result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination
Assist in maintaining student security and accountability during training, day and evening, by continuously walking through those areas where students are being trained, having lunch, participating in dorm activities, recreational activities, and monitoring grounds over entire Center
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience
Two years security, law enforcement, military, or related experience
Safety related training preferred
At least one year in a residential living setting and background in youth programs preferred
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associates Degree preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
