Environmental Services Specialist-Campus (Night Shift)
Perform a variety of routine and major professional cleaning duties in public and private spaces of the university. Respond to urgent cleaning needs as a result of spills or accidents. Adhere to an established schedule to maintain cleanliness standards. Use professional cleaning products, equipment and techniques. Interact with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. Assist other team members with daily work and special projects. Use an assigned communication device.

Essential Job Functions
Complete tasks independently using professional cleaning techniques and actively participate in ongoing training.
Empty, clean and replace liners in waste containers daily and coordinate removal of recycling and large waste and debris items.
Regularly inspect and refill supplies of paper, soap and other products throughout the shift.
Maintain carpeted areas through daily vacuuming and spot treatment of stains; maintain hard flooring and stair treads through daily sweeping, wet and/or dry mopping.
Inspect and actively maintain cleanliness of high‑traffic areas such as restrooms, breakrooms and lobby areas throughout the shift.
Dust, clean and disinfect a variety of surfaces including furniture, walls, doors, glass, windows, counters, lab and bathroom fixtures.
Properly use, store and maintain adequate supply of equipment and cleaning products; use resources in a safe, cost‑effective manner.
Use an assigned communication device to read and respond to texts, emails and service requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Read and write and comprehend written and oral instruction.
Use a personal computer, cell phone, tablet or other device with limited training.
Utilize email programs and applications necessary to perform job duties with limited training.
Perform work independently.
Work as part of a team.
Interpersonal skills.
Organizational skills.
Prioritization skills.
Experience Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
Starting Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
Work Schedule Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including Sunday‑Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Shifts are subject to change to meet the needs of the University.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Licenses / Certifications Some positions require a driving record that meets University underwriting guidelines. Current guidelines include possession of a valid driver’s license, at least 21 years of age, at least three years of driving experience and maintenance of an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). This position will not require driving.
Personal Physical Requirements
Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Climbing stairs.
Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
Working in confined spaces.
Working within extreme temperature ranges.
