Seasonal / Temporary Residential Counselors – Full Time & Part Time (All Shifts)

Base pay range:
$20.59–$21.21 per hour
Shifts
Days – Full Time (40 hrs):
Monday‑Friday 8 am–4 pm;
Part‑Time (16 hrs):
Saturdays & Sundays 8 am–4 pm
Evenings – Full Time (40 hrs):
Monday‑Friday 4 pm–12 am;
Part‑Time (16 hrs):
Saturdays & Sundays 4 pm–12 am
Nights – Full Time (40 hrs):
Tuesday‑Saturday 12 am–8 am;
Part‑Time (16 hrs):
Sundays & Mondays 12 am–8 am
Night shift differential: +$3.00 per hour

About the Position Residential Counselors work closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter, providing life‑skills support and overseeing site operations. Key duties include screening, intake, orientation, safety enforcement, housekeeping, and crisis management.
Responsibilities
Ensure safety of guests and site
Enforce rules and regulations for smooth operation
Respond effectively to emergencies, document and communicate per guidelines
Complete intake process for new guests
Provide support and structure to address guest concerns
Initiate crisis intervention when necessary
Record documentation as required by program guidelines
Attend meetings and trainings as requested
Monitor security cameras
Communicate concerns about behaviors, health, and safety to appropriate staff
Control entry and manage telephones professionally
Protect privacy of resident/guest information per policies and legal requirements
Maintain professional boundaries
Complete all shift tasks per program guidelines
Conduct inspections as required by guidelines
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
1 year of experience working with individuals needing social services, preferably low‑income (strongly preferred)
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Excellent crisis management skills
Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collectionAttention to detail
Bilingual skills (preferred)
