Job Summary This position is eligible for a $5,000 hiring incentive. The Therapy Tech 2 works under general supervision of a certified/registered therapist and is responsible for a variety of activities. Duties include being an active participant with therapeutic treatment teams, assisting in planning and carrying out rehabilitative treatment programs, conducting therapy sessions with patients, observing and recording responses, assisting in design and construction of adaptive equipment, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The role may require driving a 12‑passenger van.

Job Duties

Assisting in the planning and carrying out of rehabilitative treatment programs and conducting and supervising patient activities.

Observing and recording a patient’s response to therapy and adjusting approach as needed.

Interacting face‑to‑face with patients in a supportive/helping role.

Instructing patients in special exercises to improve dexterity, balance, concentration or other physical or mental capability.

Participating in establishing and maintaining a safe, orderly therapeutic environment, escorting patients and preparing materials and equipment.

May be required to drive up to a 12‑passenger van and complete hospital van safety training.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Fundamentals of rehabilitation, therapeutic treatment and mental health principles.

Therapeutic practices and techniques for group and individual activities.

Modification techniques to adapt to individual situations.

Hospital policies, procedures, JACHO assessment standards.

Performance Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Lean methodologies.

Establishing effective working relationships with patients and co‑workers.

Interpreting activities and analyzing situations accurately to initiate effective action.

Motivating patients as per Individual Treatment Plans.

Maintain sensitivity, objectivity, flexibility under pressure.

Communicate verbally and in writing.

Interpret therapeutic activities to patients and others.

Support a diverse multicultural workforce and promote equal opportunity.

Selective Preferences

2+ years of experience in healthcare field preferred.

Preference for candidates with COTA/L certification. Certified lifeguard also considered.

Pre‑Employment Requirements

Valid level one fingerprint clearance card or must apply within seven working days.

Driver’s license.
