Education & Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings heart, flexibility, and a commitment to high‑quality early learning.
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Possess CDA Credential or be actively working toward a CDA or State‑awarded equivalent
Preferred: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from an institution accredited by the NC DCDEE
Experience in early childhood settings is helpful, but your enthusiasm for supporting children and teams matters most.

Create positive experiences by supporting teachers with hands‑on activities that reflect the mission and philosophy of the WNCSource Head Start program
Build warm, supportive relationships with children and families
Step confidently into classrooms to assist in the absence of Teachers, Teacher Assistants, or Support Staff
Maintain safe, healthy, supervised learning and play environments
Support Site Supervisors, Center Directors, administrative staff, and kitchen staff to keep the center running smoothly
Engage with children in ways that nurture curiosity, social‑emotional growth, and school readiness
