About the Role Learning Tree Preschool & Childcare has served the Portage community for over 50 years, caring for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. We have continued to operate at full capacity even through COVID-19, and we now offer a teaching opportunity in our Infant Room for children aged 12‑24 months.
Responsibilities
Ensure children’s safety and learning by creating and supporting a program that fosters health, growth, and development.
Design an environment that inspires learning, introducing innovative ideas that teach language, listening, social, and physical skills through creative activities.
Set up indoor and outdoor areas to encourage creative play, motor skill development, and safety.
Participate in professional meetings, conferences, and workshops to strengthen skills.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Identify children with emotional, developmental, or health concerns and discuss these issues with supervisors, parents/guardians, and child development specialists.
Observe and assess children’s performance, behavior, social skills, and physical well-being.
Change diapers and read books to children.
Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use in learning activities and imaginative play.
Qualifications
Committed to quality education.
Focused on Early Education with a registry level 7 (or currently enrolled in early education coursework).
At least one year as a lead teacher; willing to train those pursuing a career in early education.
