Residential Assistant
BRBH is hiring for a Residential Assistant. Are you a team player, flexible, and have a desire to work with individuals during a critical time in their recovery from mental health or substance use disorders?
Schedule:
Nights – 11pm-7:30am, rotating weekends.
Pay:
Starting at $16/hour, eligible for an 11% shift differential.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:
Assisting with admissions and discharges
Answering the phone
Completing and recording vital signs
Assisting clients to groups and meals
Providing client transportation as needed
Completing medication pick-up
Assisting in the kitchen as needed
Overall cleanliness of the unit including sanitizing beds, changing linens, mopping floors, emptying trash, sanitizing bathrooms
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED.
Eligible to drive agency vehicles; active, unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years).
Experience working directly with individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders is a plus.
Background Check: Candidates must complete a fingerprint criminal background check and drug screen.
Physical requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, reach above head, use hands to place and pull objects, frequently lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Vision: close vision for driving. Hearing: normal tones.
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; training provided after hire.

Our Crisis Stabilization and Detox Unit provides short‑term (3 to 15 day) inpatient stabilization for individuals with mental illness symptoms and medically supervised detoxification from alcohol and other drugs. Services are delivered in a recovery‑oriented environment including skills training, psychiatric care, 12‑step recovery groups on site, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care upon transition to outpatient services.
