Registered Nurse (RN), Crisis Receiving Center
Pay:
$34.50/hour for Full time, with scheduled increases. Additional compensation dependent on experience.
Schedule:
Various shifts including possible holidays and weekends, rotational on‑call schedule with other team members. Full Time: 36 hours – three 12‑hour shifts per week. Evening/weekend hours eligible for 11% shift differential.
About the Crisis Receiving Center Registered Nurses in the Crisis Stabilization Unit provide psychiatric nursing and medical detoxification to individuals in a short‑term residential and therapeutic environment. The program is open 24/7, allowing individuals to stay up to 23 hours to receive support and reduce hospital bed occupancy.
Registered Nurse Duties
Physical, dental, and mental health assessments & discharges
Obtaining and interpreting vital signs and weight
Drawing and running labs, monitoring lab results
Administering oral (PO), subcutaneous (SubQ), and/or intramuscular (IM) medications
Educating clients regarding psychotropic/medical medication side‑effects and health and wellness topics
Initiating or responding to phone contacts with clients, medical providers, pharmacists, case managers, and other providers regarding medication needs, lab reports, side effects, etc.
Documenting all pertinent nursing assessments or notes in the electronic health record, accurately documenting medication orders and administration
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Virginia
One year of experience providing medication management; psychiatric nursing experience is a plus
Successful background check and drug screen required for all positions offered
