Resident Assistant
Location: Nine Mile, Bloomington, MN – a senior living community managed by Ebenezer.
Job Overview Responsible for providing personal care and designated health‑related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents’ physical and emotional well‑being. Direct‑care schedule includes on‑call/casual, day, evening, and overnight (NOC) shifts. Casual staff must be willing to work a minimum of three shifts per month (two weekend shifts) and one holiday shift per year.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care such as bathing, showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, feeding, toileting, and hair care.
Assist with the use of hearing aids and/or glasses.
Provide 1–2 person transfers and use of a mechanical lift.
Perform home services: laundry, cleaning schedule, deliver meal trays, assist with meal service in the dining room.
Assist with preparing for and facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned.
Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional conditions (e.g., mood, appetite, weight) to appropriate staff.
Serve as a mandated reporter for potential mistreatment.
Respond appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
Required Qualifications
Under one year of experience.
Ability to use technology such as computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
Under 18 must be enrolled on the MN NA registry.
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of previous experience.
