Salary Range: $28,777 – $35,000 (Salary Grade 2, Salary Type: Full‑Time)
Position status: Open until filled
Position Summary This is primarily a night position; however, hours may vary and may require weekend evenings and holidays as supervision requires. The employee will be primarily responsible for training both new and current staff on the duties and responsibilities associated with their roles. Professional conduct, a positive attitude, and an appropriate dress code are expected. Customer service for employees and patients is also required.

Organizational Support Responsibilities
Attendance – Maintains good attendance in coordination with university policy.
Punctuality – Reports to work on time and ready for duty.
Uses time‑recording system (TCP) to record time correctly for each pay period.
Work Responsibilities
Supervises the daily activities of building services workers during assigned shifts.
Assists in hiring new employees for Building Services.
Orients and trains new employees.
Prioritizes and assigns duties to building services employees ensuring all areas have proper coverage.
Performs daily inspections of areas, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
Maintains and oversees schedules for cleaning and waxing of floors per management schedule.
Places work orders and works closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure requests are addressed quickly.
Works with the Director of Operations and Support Services for employee evaluations and contracts; communicates issues including disciplinary action as needed.
Reports to the Director of Operations and Support Services.
Meets with various internal and external staff to determine needs for special events; coordinates staff and materials to complete such events.
Assists in distributing supplies and equipment; maintains records and approval of any purchases.
Oversees snow removal from sidewalks and parking areas; inspects these areas before and during operating hours.
Works closely with management for opening of new buildings, cleaning, and timely completion of projects (including after‑hours and weekend work).
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Physical Requirements
Lift at least 75 pounds.
Climb 6, 8, or 12‑foot ladders.
Work in all weather and building environments.
Walk and be mobile for more than 8 hours.
Work around water, dust, and chemicals with proper PPE and training.
Operate machinery such as buffers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and snow plows.
Have a valid driver’s license; be familiar with pulling a box trailer.
Clean blood and bodily fluids with training.
Work around students, doctors, and staff with a professional dress code and respect.
Requirements Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Two years’ experience in hospital or clinical custodial services.
Experience: Two years’ experience as a supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree.
Experience: Knowledge of ordering, budgeting, and reconciliation.
