Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate)
in a school district located in the East Bay Area.
This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with young learners, values individualized instruction, and is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Position Overview The Special Education Teacher will provide direct instruction and case management for students with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained K–2 classroom. This role includes developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction in a Mild/Moderate Special Day Class setting
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with student needs
Adapt curriculum and instruction to support diverse learners
Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
Maintain special education documentation and compliance timelines
Qualifications
Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Mild/Moderate (required)
English Learner Authorization
Experience with early elementary students preferred
