ISO Education – Special Education Teacher Location: California Schedule: Full-Time | K–12 Credential Required: Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate or equivalent w/ Autism authorization)

Position Overview ISO is seeking a compassionate and skilled

Special Education Teacher to support students who require academic, behavioral, and social-emotional intervention. This role provides direct instruction, develops individualized programming, partners collaboratively with gen-ed teachers, and ensures students with disabilities receive equitable access to learning and the least restrictive environment.

You will design meaningful and measurable IEP goals, coordinate specialized services, assess student progress, and utilize differentiated instructional strategies for diverse learning needs. This is a highly collaborative role ideal for educators who believe in student independence, inclusive learning, and evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)

Teach and support students requiring specialized academic and behavioral intervention

Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluate progress toward IEP goals

Provide direct instruction using differentiated, multi-sensory, and adaptive methods

Collaborate with families, support staff, agencies, and general education teachers

Participate in SST/IEP meetings, maintain compliance, documentation, and data-tracking

Implement behavior management, reinforcement systems, and positive supports

Assist students with mainstream integration and general classroom participation

Maintain a structured, safe, and regulated learning space

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree or higher with Special Education coursework

Valid CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential or Specialist Instruction Credential

Autism Authorization included

Minimum 3 years classroom experience (2+ years in SpEd preferred)

Knowledge of:

K–12 curriculum, assessment tools & differentiated instructional delivery

Writing goals, IEP documentation, progress monitoring, data analysis

Behavior management, reinforcement strategies, and conflict resolution

Developmental profiles, diverse cultural backgrounds, and community resources

Ability to:

Adapt curriculum for multiple learning styles and accessibility needs

Deliver instruction that supports independence, growth, and skill development

Build trust-centered relationships with students, families, and school teams

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages strengths
