Our Lady Queen of Peace School is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Long-Term Substitute Technology Teacher to serve grades 5–8 in our Future Ready instructional program. As a Catholic school committed to academic excellence, innovation, and forming disciples of Christ, we are looking for an educator who can inspire students to use technology intentionally, creatively, and responsibly in a rapidly changing world.
About the Position The Technology Teacher provides instruction aligned to Wisconsin Technology and Computer Science Standards, preparing students to use technology as a tool for learning, problem-solving, communication, and digital citizenship. Instruction for grades 5–8 includes (but is not limited to):
Coding and programming foundations
Digital media creation
Research and information literacy
Keyboarding and productivity tools (Google Workspace)
Safe, ethical, and responsible technology use
Project-based learning that supports Future Ready skills and the 5 Cs (Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Character)
This is a part-time, long-term substitute role beginning January 5 and possibly continuing through the end of the academic year.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; teaching license preferred
Experience teaching or assisting with technology education, computer science, or coding
Strong understanding of WI State Technology & Computer Science Standards
Effective classroom management and ability to build positive relationships with middle school learners
Commitment to integrating technology meaningfully and safely into instruction
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support a Future Ready learning environment
Willingness to uphold and model the mission and values of a Catholic school, including respect, stewardship, and formation of the whole child
Preferred Skills
Experience with Google Workspace for Education
Familiarity with platforms such as Scratch, Code.org, Tynker, robotics tools, or similar
Ability to develop engaging, hands-on technology lessons
Strong communication and organizational skills
Enthusiasm for supporting electives, enrichment, or school-wide technology initiatives
