Job Description The Sooner Card Technical Student Assistant provides an important service to the University of Oklahoma community by welcoming new students, faculty/staff, retirees, and affiliates to OU with the creation of their Sooner Card. Position specifically completes tech tasks and duties in support of Sooner Card. Student Assistants should be well versed with the university and be able to provide excellent customer service to a diverse community. Technical Student Assistants may be required to open/close the Sooner Card office with little to no supervision. Knowledge of computers, printers, scanners, telephones is required.
Duties
Troubleshoot software and hardware
Install and configure software,
Install, configure and deployment of POS equipment
Communicate technical information effectively to faculty, staff, and students
Document technical procedures as assigned
Proactively assist customers with issues they may experience
Assistin ongoing maintenance & operation of Sooner Card's technological resources.
Occasional office cleaning
Assists with clerical duties as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Support system administration tasks
Working with card offices in a technical capacity, including Tulsa when service is disrupted
Troubleshoot to resolution technical issues that come up, and if needed, elevate to next level of leadership for completion or evaluation.
Preference for student with previous experience with a Point Of Sale (POS) system
*Must have previous tech‑based professional employment experience.*

Familiarity with Windows and/or Mac OS, desktops and laptops
