Lifeguards
Reports to: Assistant Manager and Pool Manager
Qualifications:
Be 15 years of age.
Have ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Have the ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
Have reliable transportation to and from work sites.
Have availability to train and work from mid-May through late August.
Have strong communication and organizational skills.
Have the ability to work well with others.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of all patrons through preventive lifeguarding using StarGuard training.
Know, understand and enforce all CAP rules and safety regulations.
Respond appropriately to EAP procedures in emergency situations.
Maintain StarGuard training throughout employment (must be done weekly)
Maintain daily cleaning and disinfecting of all public areas through instruction from managers on duty.
Uphold the standards that CAP has set to promote a healthy and safe environment for all patrons and employees.
Arriving to work on time.
Abide by the uniform and dress policy of the City of Canyon for lifeguards.
Completing other duties assigned by the Assistant Manager and Pool Manager.
Lifeguard Certification: City of Canyon will pay for you to obtain your StarGuard certification. You must complete the training and pass the exam before the beginning of the season.
Pretest includes: 150 yard swim
Tread water for 2 minutes (without using hands)
Retrieve a 10 lb brick from 12 feet of water.
