Job Summary A Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). The trainee initiates and conducts cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS). Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description Under the supervision of an RPSGT, you will conduct sleep studies (MSLT, MWT, parasomnia testing), prepare and calibrate equipment, apply sensors, monitor data quality, and assist with PAP therapy. You will document sleep stages and clinical events, ensure patient safety, and provide age‑specific care across all populations.
Requirements
High school diploma/GED plus patient care experience or enrollment in a polysomnography program.
Must obtain RPSGT credential within 36 months of hire.
CPR certification required.
Preferred: Associate degree in science, EEG/sleep testing experience, computer/HIS familiarity.
