Position Summary The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using both machine and manual cleaning methods. The role also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Work in a team environment as an effective team player

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and cooking utensils for the dish machine

Sort and stack clean dishes; transport them to cooks and storage areas

Change dishwater in the dish machine every hour

Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand

Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster

Set up and break down the dishwashing area

Clean and roll/unroll mats

Fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions

Sweep and mop floors

Assemble and disassemble dish machine

Sweep up trash around the exterior of the restaurant and garbage dumpster

Perform general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed

Wipe up any spills to keep kitchen floors dry

Notify Manager if dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures

Maintain personal appearance, neat clothing, well‑groomed hair, and hygiene per company policy

Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment

Perform other duties as directed

Qualifications

Moderate verbal and written communication skills

Moderate interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment

Act with integrity and professionalism

Proficient written and oral communication in English

California food handler’s card required

Basic mathematical skills

Basic reading and writing skills

Basic computer skills

Multi‑task oriented

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application

Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required

Knowledge of and adherence to workplace safety procedures

Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items

Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of full‑service restaurant experience

Physical Demands And Work Environment Essential functions require standing for the entire shift; frequent reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, carrying, and pushing. Duties involve repetitive hand and arm motions, walking, and handling items up to 75 pounds. Exposure to kitchen equipment, hot/damp environment, and potential hazards such as cuts, slips, burns, smoke, steam, and harsh temperatures. Noise level is moderate to loud.
