Position Summary The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using a machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work in a team environment with the ability to be an effective team player.

Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.

Sort and stack clean dishes; carry clean dishes to cooks line and other proper storage areas; rewash soiled dishes before delivering.

Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.

Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.

Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster.

Set up and break down dishwashing area.

Clean and roll/unroll mats.

Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

Sweep/mop floors.

Assemble/disassemble dish machine.

Sweep up trash around the exterior of the restaurant and garbage dumpster.

Perform general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.

Wipe up any spills to keep kitchen floors dry.

Notify Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.

Take pride in personal appearance; report to work in neat, clean clothing; maintain well‑groomed hair and personal hygiene in accordance with Company policy.

Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of employment.

Perform other duties as directed.

California food handlers card required.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.

Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.

Knowledge of and ability to adhere to workplace safety procedures.

Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items.

Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of full‑service restaurant experience.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member stands the entire shift. They frequently reach, bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry and push. They frequently use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls in repetitive motions. They frequently walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. They frequently lift and carry tubs, cases, trash and plates weighing up to 75 pounds. They are regularly exposed to kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef’s knives, etc.). The team member works primarily indoors in a hot and damp environment. The team member must frequently communicate with coworkers. They are occasionally exposed to hazards including cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
