Seasonal (mid‑January 2026 to end of May 2026)
Salary Range:
$16.50 – $23.93 Hourly
Job Summary The City of Greeley is seeking a full‑time, temporary Clerical Assistant to work as part of the Water & Sewer Utility Billing Department, to administer the LIFT UP Program (previously known as the Food Tax Rebate Program), and the Utility Assistance Program.
This hourly, seasonal clerical position works up to 40 hours per week from mid‑January 2026 through approximately the end of May 2026. Responsibilities include processing customer applications for the LIFT UP and Utility Assistance programs, answering customer questions, assisting customers with filing food tax rebate applications and utility assistance applications, assisting staff in sorting/filing miscellaneous accounting forms, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills
Zero (0) to two (2) years of previous clerical experience
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
Preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish with demonstrated fluency preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to use the City’s financial software
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices
Customer service skills, including active listening, addressing customer needs, defusing tense situations, and maintaining an open, flexible, friendly demeanor
Commitment to customer service and timely responsiveness
Professional appearance and demeanor

Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new software

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with a team

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
Assist customers with filing LIFT UP rebate applications
Assist customers with filing utility assistance applications
Process customer applications for the LIFT UP rebate program
Process customer applications for the utility assistance program
Answer customer questions
Assist staff in sorting/filing miscellaneous accounting forms
Other duties as assigned
Travel Category A – Standard Local Travel: occasional local travel within the County; employees may walk or drive short distances to attend meetings, trainings, or perform work at other City buildings or partner sites.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Fixed workstation for extended periods
Use desktop computer, keyboard, telephone, and common office equipment
Minimal hazards typical of general office environment
Vision and hearing sufficient for computer use and interaction
Minimal physical effort; primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift light objects
