Honey Veil
About Honey Veil
Honey Veil is a family-run matcha café and bakery born in Miami, known for long lines, thoughtful drinks, and baked goods made with a lot of love and a little bit of obsession. Our flagship store at 5748 Sunset Drive is a busy, tight operation—and none of it works without clean dishes and an organized kitchen.
We’re hiring a Dishwasher / Kitchen Porter to keep the whole engine from seizing up.
Role Summary This is a single-function back-of-house support role.
The Dishwasher / Kitchen Porter keeps the kitchen supplied with clean sheet pans, bowls, utensils, and smallwares; buses back-of-house racks and carts; takes out trash; and helps maintain basic BOH cleanliness. No FOH service, no cooking—just keeping the space clean and the team moving.
What You’ll Do Dishwashing & BOH Support
Wash dishes, sheet pans, trays, mixing bowls, utensils, and smallwares using the dish machine and 3‑compartment sink.
Keep clean items organized and stocked where bakers, cooks, and baristas can easily find them.
Bus dirty items from designated BOH drop zones back to the dish area throughout the shift.
Trash, Recycling & Basic Cleaning
Take out trash and recycling from BOH areas on a regular schedule and as needed during rushes.
Replace liners and keep trash/recycling areas tidy and safe.
Help with basic BOH cleanliness: wiping surfaces, sweeping, occasional mopping of the dish/kitchen area.
Assist with end‑of‑shift breakdown and reset of dish and prep areas.
Organization & Safety
Keep the dish area organized so dirty and clean items never mix.
Follow chemical and safety procedures for dish soap, sanitizers, and cleaning supplies.
Report any broken equipment, leaks, or safety hazards to a manager immediately.
What We’re Looking For
No formal kitchen experience required—prior dish, porter, or BOH experience is a plus.
Can move quickly and stay organized in a busy environment.
Comfortable with physical work: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and walking for most of the shift.
Reliable and on time—everyone depends on this role running smoothly.
Willing to follow systems and keep things clean, labeled, and in the right place.
Positive attitude and a team‑first mindset.
Schedule & Pay
Full‑time, on‑site role at 5748 Sunset Drive, South Miami, FL.
Primarily daytime and/or early‑evening shifts; weekends and some holidays required.
Pay:
$16–$18/hr, with most hires expected around $16–$17/hr.
$18/hr is reserved for rock‑solid performers you want to retain long‑term and/or heavier night schedules.
How to Apply Please submit your resume (if you have one) or a short note sharing:
Any prior kitchen, dish, or physical work experience.
Your availability (days and times).
Your target hourly rate within the posted range.
We’re excited to meet the person who will keep the Honey Veil kitchen clean, flowing, and ready for the next rush.
