Responsibilities
Perform basic preventive maintenance and assist with intermediate and advanced corrective maintenance tasks.
Repair and maintain diesel and natural gas generators and engines ranging from 20 kW up to 2 MW.
Diagnose electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures, including out of fuel, dead battery, and other basic problems.
Conduct load bank testing, block heater installation, battery charger installation, and control panel conversions.
Operate equipment at customer locations, provide detailed computerized template reports, and complete timecards.
Assist with Level II Technician training and supervision.
Respond to emergency calls as needed and work a flexible schedule.
Essential Duties
Replace batteries, belts, hoses; change and top off oil and filters.
Fill out service reports, PM checklists, and timecards accurately and legibly.
Evaluate, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot basic and intermediate problems on gas or diesel engines.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on engines, generators, and associated equipment.
Use basic knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and related electrical equipment.
Set up, start, and operate equipment as directed in-house and at customer locations.
Safety
Maintain thorough knowledge of and practice safe working activities in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other required regulations.
Report all recognized unsafe conditions or acts to Management.
Wear proper PPE when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Use own tools necessary to complete the job, as listed in the Essential Tools section.
Attend training sessions as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. Technical/Maintenance training program preferred.
Valid Texas driver’s license.
10 years of experience in a related field.
Troubleshooter, time management, communication skills, problem solving, inventiveness, and proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
