This position is for a Basic EMT Adjunct Instructor who will develop and deliver instruction in EMT theory and hands‑on skills, manage the classroom, and complete administrative tasks such as syllabus development, reporting, and recommendations for instructional materials and facilities.
Class Schedule Schedules vary each semester and may include daytime, evenings, weekends, or online classes. Faculty may be required to teach split schedules (morning and evening) and dual‑enrollment courses in high schools.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction including hands‑on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks such as reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
Prepare and maintain current course syllabi for taught courses.
Ensure courses are taught according to established syllabi.
Recommend instructional materials and laboratory equipment for courses.
Supervise students.
Minimum and Additional Requirements Associate's degree and current authorization by DHEC as an EMT Instructor (or eligibility for authorization) required. Current CPR Instructor Certification (AHA, Red Cross, AHI) and completion of NHTSA or DHEC‑approved instructor methodology courses required.
