Jack In The Box – Assistant Restaurant Manager
Responsible for managing restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and to build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees; monitors staffing levels; ensures training systems are implemented; identifies and develops internal candidates for management and Team Leader roles; supports “My Promise to You” and SPC execution; creates a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment; treats all employees with care and respect; motivates high performance; recognizes rewards; ensures compliance with labor laws.
External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence; ensures guests receive an exceptional experience through proper training and accountability; monitors adherence to JIB systems, procedures, and food safety; maintains visibility and interaction with guests; responds to concerns and complaints; maintains a positive brand image and serves as a role model.
Higher Profits: Uses management information tools to analyze performance; identifies trends and implements improvement plans; protects the brand and monitors costs and budget adherence; executes action plans to increase sales and profitability while considering cost/benefit impact.

Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience : Minimum 1+ year as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment (Internal Promote) or 3+ years as Assistant Manager with P&L responsibility (External Recruit). Must be 100% certified in all workstations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : 18+ years old, Assistant Manager training complete, ServSafe certified; proficient in English, basic math, analytical skills, organization; self‑starter with initiative; PC literacy; valid driver’s license and insurance; ability to drive for bank deposits and travel.
Physical Requirements : Standing and walking 85–95% of shift; lifting 10–65 lbs; moving freely; operating equipment; operating a computer keyboard.
