Job Description Teach radiologic technology and other related courses to a diverse student population, covering subjects such as patient care, introduction to radiologic technology, radiographic positioning, special procedures, radiobiology and health physics, CPR, venipuncture, medical terminology, survey of disease, and healthcare law and ethics.

Acquire and maintain education and skills necessary for competency to teach any course in radiologic technology.

Teach assigned lecture and lab courses in a manner consistent with the department’s standards, and with the content cited in the approved course outline and plan of instruction.

Teach, supervise, and evaluate students in theory.

Perform professional tasks related to student advisement, curriculum design and evaluation, program review, and other affairs of the department and division.

Remain current in subject matter areas, recent clinical experience, professional development, and application of technology to education.

Participate in curriculum development, serve on committees, and conduct professional development activities.

Participate in co‑curricular activities, including planning, implementing, and teaching special programs.

Participate in the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the SLO assessment cycle.

Maintain formal office and campus hours; participate in meetings.

Maintain knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies, learn and apply emerging technologies.

Teach scheduled classes, perform related duties, including clerical and administrative responsibilities.

Assist in the growth and success of a diverse student population through course materials, effective teaching methodologies, and informed feedback.

Develop culturally relevant course content and culturally responsive pedagogical techniques.

Work cooperatively with staff and students.

Evening and/or weekend assignments may be required as part of the regular contract.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND two years of professional experience

Associate degree in any discipline AND six years of professional experience

Possess a valid California teaching credential in the appropriate subject matter area

Possess current and valid ARRT® license

Possess current and valid unlimited Certified Radiologic Technologist license (CRT) from the California Department of Public Health

Possess current and valid Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist license from the California Department of Public Health

Desirable Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any subject area

Teaching experience, preferably at the community college level

Experience in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising

Experience using computers and technology in radiography education

Knowledge of current innovative teaching methods that encourage student engagement and learning

Experience working in a team‑teaching environment

Demonstrated leadership experience and/or participation in community or professional organizations

Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional and classroom practices to support disproportionately impacted student populations

Working Conditions Salary Range:

$85,541 – $128,379 annually
