Location: Cypress College, North Orange County Community College District. Department: CC Health Science.
Employment: 100% full‑time, 10 months per year, Temporary One Year Term for Academic Year 2026‑2027.
Job Description Teach nursing through lecture, on‑campus labs, simulation, skills, and related courses to a diverse student population. Participate in curriculum development, departmental and district committees, professional development activities, special programs, and the SLO formulation and assessment cycle. Maintain office hours, attend meetings, stay current with instructional methods and technologies, and perform clerical and administrative duties. Support student success, especially culturally diverse and historically underserved students. Evening and/or weekend assignments may be required.
Primary Purpose Duties are representative and not restrictive; the district reserves right to modify according to operational needs.
Working Relationships Collaborate with department staff, faculty, and students.
Special Requirements
All degrees verifiable on a legible transcript; grade cards not accepted.
All degrees and coursework must come from accredited postsecondary institutions. See website for accredited institutions.
Evaluations of foreign degrees required.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s or higher degree including coursework in nursing, education, or administration. If degree not nursing, must include nursing education coursework.
Meeting qualifications established by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
A. At least one year teaching courses related to registered nursing, or post‑baccalaureate program with teaching practice.
B. Direct patient care experience within the last five years, or one year academic RN teaching experience in designated area.
C. Current valid California Registered Nursing license by August 13, 2026.
D. Current Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification by August 13, 2026.

Policy creation, implementation, and revision; accreditation standards.
Experience in Med Surg and/or MH/OB/Peds.
Willingness to cross‑train in additional specialty such as MH, OB or Peds.
Working Conditions Salary Range: $85,541 - $128,379 Annually
