Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college/university or recognized foreign credential evaluated by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in ESOL or ESOL endorsement with content certification. Experience: None required. Physical Activities: Routine physical activities required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Written & oral communication in English at Advanced (ACTFL) or Level 2 ILR or GACE Basic Skills Exam or exemption. Instructional strategies engaging oral & written, align with ESOL curriculum. Classroom & student management. Essential Duties
Provide appropriate instruction in ESOL/IEL. Display punctual attendance and professional demeanor. Seek professional development in second languages. Develop, implement, monitor, assess English Language Proficiency for identified ELL and ELL‑M students. Communicate with parents regarding English Language Services. Complete procedures for students referred for ESOL/IEL services. Compile, maintain, submit required records. Serve as resource and collaborate with general education teachers for students with limited English proficiency. Maintain prompt professional communication with parents.
