Summary Draws, reads, electrical wiring diagrams. Has knowledge of electrical and electronic components, wiring practices as described by the National Electrical Code. Can troubleshoot electrical problems on equipment while practicing electrical safety at all times.
Essential Responsibilities
Use engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and all other relative documents to assemble HVAC units/sub-assemblies.
Use an assortment of hand, power, and testing tools.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Complete unit paperwork and QC checklist.
Report defective equipment to Supervisor.
Install and wire a variety of electrical components.
Determine proper wiring practice and installation.
Assemble and wire electrical components, controls, and panels for electrical equipment for engineering, including prototypes.
Test components and circuitry with various gauges, meters, and testing equipment.
Practice electrical safety at all times.
Maintain and safeguard personal protective equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Stop unsafe acts.
Assist Electrical Engineer with wiring diagrams for production jobs scheduled.
Assist production technicians with electrical problems on jobs, when required.
Qualifications / Skills
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Capability of using common hand tools, gauges, multimeters, and hand‑operated power tools.
Capability of lifting 50 lbs without the use of lifting equipment.
Prefer electrical wiring and testing experience.
Safety / Physical Requirements
Gain knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation as well as plant safety rules.
Participate in toolbox talks and monthly training.
Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of coworkers.
Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions and report issues to management.
Assisting in accident investigations (as needed).
Complete accident and incident reports (near miss) in a timely manner.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Requires bending, stooping, and standing.
Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day (overtime may extend).
Good visual and spatial perception.
Follow established safety policies including mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first‑aid response, etc.
