We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.This position will be working on campus and off-campus.**\*\*\*Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs.** \*\*\** The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment.* The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.**Duties and Responsibilities:**The College and Career Coach will work closely with the AELG staff and faculty to:* Provide college and career information to program students in and outside of class and schedule individual appointments as needed.* Assist learners in their transition to next levels and/or programs.* Refer students to appropriate campus resources for assistance with disability services, academic and other college-related concerns.* Work with program staff to offer specialized career/college presentations.* Work with program faculty to implement college and career readiness activities into the ESOL/ABE/ASE curriculum.* Disseminate information on programs and services to students, faculty and staff as needed, and through various modalities.* Submit regular records on numbers of workshops and appointments, participation rates, and evaluations.* Maintain communication with students using apps and Montgomery College email.* Maintain logs of student issues encountered, resolutions, and referrals.* Maintain regular communication with program staff and faculty.* Attend ongoing trainings and meetings.* Adhere to national counseling ethics policies, college policies and procedures, and recommended procedures.**Required Qualifications:*** Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Psychology, or related field.* Two years’ experience providing college and career services to adult learners.* Able to take initiative and work independently, under minimal supervision.* Experience working with adult learners, including immigrants, individuals with disabilities and those with diverse educational, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.* Experience identifying barriers to employment and education and providing appropriate resources and referrals when needed.* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.* Strong proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and social media.* Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging,
inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion.* Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus) \*.
Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools.
\**If you do not have access to a personal computer, please notify the department chair at the time of interview. Subject to available funds, the college may be able to provide temporary access to resources.** Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.**Preferred Qualifications**:* Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Career Counseling, or related field* Recent Career or Leadership Coaching Certificate. Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), Board Certified Coach (BCC), Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), and/or Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) is highly preferred.* Work experience within adult education; preferably in a college/vocational environment.* Demonstrated effectiveness in presentation skills, leading small groups or facilitating instruction in a classroom setting.For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).As a condition of employment, the following are required at the time of hire:* Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable).*If a reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management at 240-567-5353 or HRSTM@montgomerycollege.edu.
