Professional Support Intern
This staff position is associated with the UNM Post-baccalaureate Research and Education Programs (PREP), thus only those individuals applying to PREP should submit an application. PREP scholars are expected to conduct high level research in their laboratory in collaboration with their mentor, attend regular weekly PREP meetings, participate in professional conferences, and engage in other typical research activities. Scholars are expected to apply to multiple graduate programs during their time in PREP. The goal is to prepare scholars with professional, academic, and personal development in order to successfully transition to PhD programs in medical research.

Conditions of Employment
Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.
Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.
Minimum Qualifications Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university in a Bachelor's or higher level degree program, and be within 12 months from graduating OR a recent graduate of an accredited university with a Bachelor's or higher level degree obtained no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire; no previous experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Scholar should have a demonstrated need for academic, professional and/or personal development.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
Research experience in areas of medical research in order to better prepare them for PhD programs in medical research.
Additional Requirements
Applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree acquired within the 36 months prior to the time of acceptance into the PREP program.
