Aviation Engine Test Cell Technician

The Test Cell Technician will be responsible for conducting engine testing, maintenance, and related tasks within a test cell environment. They must demonstrate proficiency in facility maintenance, test cell calibration, and other duties as directed by the test cell manager, in and out of the test cell. This position requires collaboration and support for scheduling and maintaining the Test Cell. The Test Cell Technician is expected to maintain a high level of performance and integrity and should possess effective leadership and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
Conduct engine prepping and de‑prepping
Perform incoming/outgoing engine inspections and preparation for shipping
Assist in engine tests as directed by engineering, including fuel sampling and testing
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the test‑cell facility
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety
Create and maintain priority and repair schedules
Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change based on test‑cell needs and management discretion
Must have mechanic and inspection experience with the following work scopes:
Borescope inspections
Engine prepping, and de‑prepping
Removing and installing engine components and QEC
Incoming and outgoing engine inspections
Engine preservation and preparation to ship
Perform engine preparation for test
Ability to troubleshoot engines
Performing engine tests as directed by engineering
Fuel Sampling and Testing
Requirements
Comply with FAA, ESAS, and company policies and procedures.
Test cell or engine ground run experience preferred but not required.
Familiarity with CFM 56-7B engines a plus.
Ability to work at elevated heights with proper fall protection.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
Able to read and follow OEM manual instructions.
Willingness to obtain and participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Must have or be able to obtain passport for international travel.
Ability to work in the United States legally (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C).
Preferred
High school diploma or GED
Associate or bachelor’s degree
A&P or P License
3+ years of relevant work experience in a test cell or maintenance environment
Skills/Abilities
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Familiarization with Ceres software preferred but not required
Ability to represent the company professionally with customers
Strong attention to detail and strong project management skills
Time management skills and the ability to work under time pressure in a fast‑paced environment
Customer service mentality with a positive, “can‑do” attitude
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of physical ergonomics
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
