Part‑time Evening Housekeeper
Division: Student Affairs and Academic Support, University of South Carolina – Columbia Campus.
Pay: $17.00 per hour. Hours: 4pm-10pm Mon‑Fri (30 hours per week). Part‑time.
Job Summary : The Evening Housekeeper is responsible for all areas of operation including, but not limited to, regular cleaning of the Center for Health and Well‑Being and Thomson Building, reporting facility issues, assisting with recycling, and maintaining minimal stock levels of custodial supplies. Compensation for the Housekeeper starts at $17.00.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Sanitize floors, surfaces, furniture, windows, bathroom areas, and water fountains daily following AAAHC standards.
Ensure all duties are completed between 4pm‑10pm, Mon‑Fri.
Empty all trash in offices, provider’s areas, treatment rooms, and common spaces in the Thomson Building.
Sweep/vacuum elevators, offices, provider spaces, treatment rooms, stairwells, and common areas in CHW and Thomson Building.
Mop floors (when applicable) in elevators, offices, provider spaces, treatment rooms, stairwells, and common areas.
Disinfect high‑risk areas (countertops, water fountains, door handles, elevator walls, hand sanitizers, stairwell railings, kiosks) nightly.
Wipe and sterilize desktops in offices; avoid moving items on desktops or bookshelves.
Perform restroom cleaning: sweep/mop floors, sterilize sinks, toilets, walls, replace soap and towels as needed.
Turn off lights not adjacent to surveillance cameras (unless labeled to stay on).
Lock all offices and provider areas after cleaning.
Execute special deep‑cleaning projects assigned by the Evening Housekeeping Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
Store cleaning supplies in designated areas orderly.
Record time in HR PeopleSoft no later than business close each Friday.
Attend monthly meetings with Evening Housekeeping Supervisor and Facilities Manager.
Qualifications One year of custodial, housekeeping, or waste management experience preferred. Must be able to perform moderately heavy physical duties (e.g., lifting waste cans, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.).
