Payment & Schedule

Driver Positions Pay Weekly

Average Weekly Pay: $1,296–$1,300

Hours Per Week: 53

Paid Training

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Start Time: 6:00 AM–7:00 AM Dispatch

Chauffeur license required

Routes & Equipment

Deliver Solo: IL, IN, MI, OH

Route: Dedicated Home Daily

Tractor Type: Straight Truck

Trailer Type: 20‑26′ Straight Trucks

Equipment: Pallet Jack and Liftgate

Ryder will train you on all equipment needed to be successful

Freight: Touch – Auto Parts

Trucks are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fuel up at over 800 facilities nationwide

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age

Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Must have a valid driver’s license

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

Verifiable experience with straight truck/box truck (see experience criteria below)

Experience Criteria

6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR

2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR

5 years' experience within the last 10 years

Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer assigned.

Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle and complying with safety regulations, continuous training, and customer service.

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.

Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.

Maintain accurate records; load/unload freight or assist loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.

Other tasks as assigned.
