Job Summary Under the direction of the Associate Director of Residential, the Life Coach X maintains a safe, responsive environment in our residential programs, supports personal development, and supervises Life Coach V’s to deliver person‑directed services that help residents achieve their desired outcomes.

Regulatory and Corporate Compliance

Ensure compliance with regulations, agency policies and procedures.

Maintain complete, accurate and legible documentation.

Adhere to the agency’s incident management process.

Recruit, orient and train associates appropriately.

Contribute to the development and revision of policies, procedures and agency forms.

Follow Chain of Command and policy instructions.

Promote the highest quality of support by implementing the Code of Ethics and Core Competencies.

Maintain confidentiality of all information.

Ensure medication administration follows established protocols.

Financial Management

Assist with annual budget completion.

Accurately manage individuals’ funds.

Complete personal allowance and related financial documentation according to procedure.

Person‑Centered Services

Plan services per Individual Service Plan (ISP) and related documents.

Assign Life Coaches a Resident Advocate and verify plan accuracy.

Implement activities outlined in the Habilitation Plan within the ISP.

Advocate for all individuals and deliver person‑directed services.

Coordinate daily activities and conduct weekly one‑on‑one meetings with Life Coach V’s.

Maintain assessments, baseline data, community integration, and privacy standards.

Follow emergency medical procedures and consult the medical chain of command when needed.

Transport and attend health and medical appointments as assigned.

Conduct weekly Life Coach V meetings and monthly staff meetings.

Ensure completion of one‑page profiles and POMS as identified in the Resident Advocate duties.

Program Standard

Maintain an environment that encourages optimal personal development.

Oversee shift overlaps and specific duties with Life Coach V.

Assist the Associate Director in identifying and developing new services.

Complete monthly summaries as required.

Apply minimum staffing policy accurately and ensure scheduling gaps are filled.

Generate Personal Money Reports and meet medical needs.

Collaborate with associates to develop, research, and teach successful learning.

Assign Residential Advocates to all individuals.

Ensure daily and monthly documentation compliance.

Coordinate medication administration with the RN.

Maintain professional teamwork with all staff.

Conduct investigations, incident reporting, and human resources tasks.

Provide timely praise, corrective teaching, and re‑training as needed.

Delegate and assign responsibilities appropriately.

Perform periodic spot checks and observations for quality improvement.

Physical Plant and Safety

Ensure a safe, clean environment and address concerns promptly.

Maintain knowledge of fire evacuation plan and enforce it.

Practice standard precautions and infection control.

Maintain site vehicles as applicable.

Contacts With Others

Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, businesses, and service providers.

Maintain effective working relationships with community resources.

Communicate positively and reflect mission, vision, and values, respecting privacy and confidentiality.

Address customer concerns timely and professionally.

Additional Functions

Participate in agency committees, initiatives, projects, and trainings.

Assist with coverage as assigned.

Maintain certifications and annual training updates.

Use personal vehicle to transport individuals, if required.

Be flexible with work locations and hours, including any residential home.

Attend and participate in Leadership Meetings.

Identify needs and exhaust resources before implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills.

Operate office equipment, computers, and medical equipment.

Operate wheelchair vans, if site requires.

Work regular and additional hours, including overtime, nights, and weekends.

Accept contact outside of working hours as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience, or associate degree with 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma with 5 years’ experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Five years’ experience working with an IDD population.

CPR/First Aid/AED instruction and SCIP Certification within the first six months of hire.

Medication Administration Certification for Residential and site‑based programs.

Implementation of Resident Advocate duties.

Three years of supervisory experience.

Demonstrate and role‑model the code of ethics, professionalism, effective teamwork, and empathy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Qualifications/Requirements

If driving is required:

Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Acceptable safe driving record.

If driving individuals served by the Agency is required:

Motor vehicle with up‑to‑date inspection, registered and insured.

Enroll in LENS (Licensed Event Notification System).

Authority And Accountability People:

Supervises LCV and indirectly supervises LC III, II, and I.

Operations:

Operates under the immediate supervision of the Associate Director of Residential; responsible for person‑directed services and adherence to agency policy.

Budget:

Responsible for creating and adhering to budgetary expense guidelines and programs.

Salary:

$33.31/hour – Exempt
