Position Summary
Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Service : Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, implements training systems, identifies and develops internal candidates for management, and fosters a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment. Supports the “My Promise to You” and the Service Profit Chain, treating all employees with care, respect, and motivation.
External Service : Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence. Ensures guests receive an exceptional experience through proper training and accountability. Monitors adherence to JIB systems, procedures, food safety requirements, and continuously improves the guest experience. Maintains a positive brand image by ensuring consistent food quality, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness.
Higher Profits : Partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance using management information tools. Identifies trends, consults on action plans, and uses data to increase sales and profitability. Considers cost/benefit impact of decisions, monitors costs, adherence to budget, and protects the JIB brand.

Qualifications Education
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
– Internal: Minimum 1+ year as a Shift Leader or 1 year as an Assistant Manager with 100% certified in all workstations. External: Minimum 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
– Must be at least 18 years old, complete Assistant Manager training, and be ServSafe certified. Proficient in English, basic math, and computer applications. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel. Demonstrates integrity, ethical behavior, initiative, and responsibility.
Physical Requirements
– Ability to stand and walk 85‑95% of the shift, lift 10‑65 lbs, move freely in the restaurant, operate equipment and a motor vehicle, and use a computer keyboard.
