The
Painter
will perform duties necessary to maintain the appearance of the facility, including the residences, common areas, and workspaces, while providing a high level of quality and service delivery to residents, family and guests.
Shift(s) Full Time: Monday through Friday 8:00–4:30 pm with a rotating weekend every 6–8 weeks.
Major Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by use of sand paper, scrapers, wire brushes and steel wool.
Prepare work areas; paint all interior surfaces.
Responsible for cleaning all equipment and work areas upon completion.
Responsible for quality check of all project areas upon completion.
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Physical Requirements
Extensive periods of physical activity.
Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance.
Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Ability to climb a ladder.
Ability to work in adverse conditions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Ability to communicate effectively; to collaborate with team members and other departments.
Ability to read work assignments and to communicate with residents/staff through verbal and written instructions.
Ability to visibly match paint colors.
Knowledge of painting procedures and skill in execution.
Knowledge in repairing wall surfaces in preparation for painting and skill in execution.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Ability
OSHA Certification.
Valid driver’s license in the State of Virginia with a minimum age of 21 to drive for the organization.
Offers of employment are conditioned on applicants meeting the requirements of a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.
