Mechanical Solar Foreman - Field Services
Beitzel Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Solar Foreman to lead field teams in the installation of utility‑scale, ground‑mount solar systems (1–25 MWDC) and to support a wide range of industrial, mechanical, and construction projects. This is a working foreman role – you will not just supervise the job, you’ll be in the field getting it done side‑by‑side with your crew.
This role calls for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and the ability to support and oversee projects from the ground up. In addition to solar, you’ll work on diverse industrial and mechanical construction jobs, so adaptability and a solid base in construction fundamentals are key. Basic electrical knowledge in an industrial setting is a strong plus.
If you thrive in the outdoors, enjoy leading hands‑on teams, and want to be part of building renewable energy infrastructure and other essential systems, this opportunity is for you.
What You’ll Do
Measure, cut, assemble, hoist, anchor, and place solar modules and racking.
Install racking foundation piles within tight manufacturer tolerances.
Install photovoltaic solar racking and modules in accordance with codes and standards, using drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control.
Run conduit and cables from solar panels to combiner boxes.
Operate machinery such as forklifts, man‑lifts, excavators, dozers, and pile drivers.
Working Conditions
Sit, talk, hear, read, and write.
Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Perform duties on‑site and underground at industrial locations.
Work in extreme temperature conditions and environments.
Perform work at a variety of heights.
What You’ll Bring
4+ years of mechanical solar installation, including single‑axis tracker and fixed‑tilt systems.
4+ years of supervisory experience in industrial construction (preferred).
Experience running large crews (20+) and tracking daily production.
Experience installing fixed‑tilt systems from manufacturers such as APA, NexTracker, TerraSmart, Solar FlexRack, and Schletter (preferred).
Experience installing single‑axis tracker systems from manufacturers such as ATI, NexTracker, TerraSmart, FTC, Solar FlexRack, and GameChange (preferred).
Working knowledge of construction software such as Procore.
Knowledge of industry‑standard pile remediation practices (preferred).
Knowledge of pile load testing (compression, lateral, and axial) (preferred).
How We’ll Support You Perks & Benefits
Medical, dental, and vision insurance with Rx coverage.
Life insurance.
401(k) retirement plan with company match.
Short‑term and long‑term disability.
