Are you frustrated by a Houston education system that prevents you from upholding the standards students need to succeed? Alpha is opening its flagship campus in this city, and we're looking for a leader who knows Houston's educational landscape firsthand. You will oversee 15 plus Guides who coach and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional “teaching”. High‑impact execution. Operational leadership.

Your objective: guarantee that every student enjoys school, progresses at twice the pace of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a typical Principal position. You will maintain rigorous standards, drive decisions with data, and establish Houston's premier school from the ground up.

What You Will Be Doing

Launch Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 plus students from day one, ensuring operational excellence in every dimension.

Facilitate live life skills workshops for K through 12 students: Lead one‑hour sessions focused on public speaking, growth mindset, and giving and receiving feedback. Apply Alpha's structured approach to help students master critical skills overlooked by traditional schools while staying engaged and motivated.

Drive every student to 100% goal completion: Develop personalized motivational strategies for each learner. Leverage data‑driven methods to address disengagement and sustain interaction with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by universal target achievement.

Develop Guides through performance coaching: Utilize both quantitative and qualitative metrics to pinpoint gaps in performance. Provide specific, actionable coaching during sessions and monitor ongoing improvement. Maintain accountability through objective standards and logical feedback, not empathy that lowers expectations.

Execute campus leadership through data analysis: Evaluate performance in areas including staff effectiveness, operational efficiency, parent engagement, and school culture. Identify challenges, perform root‑cause diagnostics, engage relevant stakeholders, and implement trackable improvements. Monitor outcomes and iterate continuously.

Uphold uncompromising standards of excellence: Establish and sustain Alpha's performance expectations for both students and team members. Take decisive action when results fall below standard. Model excellence as the benchmark for your campus.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master’s preferred.

At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field.

Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority.

Deep knowledge of the Houston or wider Texas education landscape.

Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14.

Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision‑making and continuous improvement.

Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.

Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch.

Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff.

Able to relate to K through 12 students, understand their interests and culture, and serve as a positive role model.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.
