Summary UMCCC is seeking a loving, nurturing multi-tasker to join our infant care team. We are hiring for either one full-time position or two part-time positions (approximately 25-30 hours per week).
Position Overview The Infant Room Teacher is responsible for collaborating with colleagues and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This role focuses on meeting the comprehensive needs of infants, including feeding and diaper changing, while addressing their developmental and emotional needs through interactive play, storytelling, and personal contact.
Duties
Provide nurturing, responsive care to infants throughout the day
Manage feeding schedules and diaper changing routines
Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth through interactive play, storytelling, and hands‑on exploration
Collaborate with colleagues as a team player to ensure smooth classroom operations
Maintain frequent communication with parents regarding their children's needs, daily activities, and developmental progress
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are consistently met
Maintain a healthy classroom environment by upholding appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring the safety and security of all children
Clean room furniture, equipment, and toys regularly
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
Perform additional duties as needed to support the classroom and center operations
Requirements
Early Childhood background or experience preferred
Strong understanding of child development
Strong oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment
Ability to work a variety of hours between 7:00am‑5:30pm
Must be able to open the classroom at 7:00am (as needed)
Physical ability to lift, kneel, bend, squat, and get up and down off the floor regularly (moderate lifting required)
Must clear full background check
Must pass health screening (including TB test)
Nice to Haves
Preferred minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience
Preferred: Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification
