Postdoctoral Fellow Kharel lab – Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Apply for the Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Kharel lab at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). The lab focuses on RNA biology in human neurological disorders, with particular interest in G-quadruplex biology.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research, record data, analyze results, and interpret experimental outcomes.
Read literature, develop new ideas, and integrate information into project design and interpretation.
Prepare manuscripts for peer‑review scientific journals.
Present findings at conferences and scientific meetings.
Collaborate with lab members (graduate students, technicians) to achieve research objectives.
Submit fellowship applications to support research funding and CV building.
Qualifications Education : PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
Experience :
Proficiency with biophysical tools (circular dichroism, microscale thermophoresis, etc.).
Hands‑on RNA or protein biochemistry (expression, purification, functional analysis of proteins/RNA complexes).
Experience investigating eukaryotic translation and quality‑control processes.
High‑throughput data analysis (RNA‑seq, proteomics).
Advanced techniques in RNA biology, protein biochemistry, neuromuscular biology, and cell biology.
Experience with mouse models of neuro/muscular disorders.
Skills : Critical thinking and strong communication (written and oral) with a scientific audience.
Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $58,656 – $80,000 per year.
