Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa. Lenox is a small-town location with a family-friendly atmosphere, located within reach of Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. The Lenox facility produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: The Plant Administrative Assistant serves as the facility’s front desk receptionist and the face of the Michael Foods Lenox facility. This role manages front desk operations, provides exceptional customer service to staff and visitors, and performs essential administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. This position complies with Safety work rules at all times and reinforces Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that policies and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed to reduce product and process variability. Greet staff, vendors, contractors, clients, and guests; ascertain needs and direct them to the appropriate person, office, or take messages. Maintain the visitor log through the visitor analytics & reporting system. Manage the facility’s main phone line by directing calls and messages while performing administrative duties (photocopying, faxing, scanning, distributing mail, payroll, etc.). Manage the facility key card access system in conjunction with IT. Manage office inventory and ensure the printing room and front reception area are presentable. Manage the facility’s conference/training rooms and their booking schedules. Be the point of contact for office vendors and suppliers. Create internal communications and posts for the facility’s bulletin boards and TV carousels. Support the facility’s recognition programs (e.g., work anniversaries and birthdays). Maintain employee records both digitally and physically; conduct necessary audits. Support the HR team in organizing company events and programs; coordinate office and facility-wide meals. Support HR & onboarding with orientation and off-boarding activities. Support the HR Supervisor with the facility’s attendance program. Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information. Maintain a safe and healthy workplace; adhere to safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all tasks. Adhere to quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may affect food safety and quality. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of 1-3 years of education, training and/or experience. Professional in dealing with personnel issues including confidential information. Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Teams, etc. Organized and detail oriented. Strong problem solving, communication, creativity and interpersonal skills. Proficient in English communication both written and verbal. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: 1-3 years of experience in an office setting as an office administrator or equivalent. Previous experience managing the front door of a secure facility and key card access system. Previous experience with an HRIS/payroll/timekeeping system or similar preferred but not required. Previous experience with visitor analytics & reporting system preferred.
