Recreation Aide Job Description The Recreation Aide will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on residents’ individual abilities and preferences to encourage and promote resident participation. Successful candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents.
Recreation Aide Duties & Responsibilities
Encouraging resident participation in programs, clubs, and social activities.
Maintaining a record of residents’ participation in programs.
Engaging with residents and reporting any change in condition to appropriate clinical staff.
Transporting residents throughout the facility.
Providing emotional and social support to residents.
Respecting the dignity and encouraging the independence of all residents.
Escorting residents to community events and off-site outings.
Assisting residents with personal items and decorations to promote a comfortable living environment for each individual.
Conducting surveys and interviews of residents to determine their interests, talents, and resident satisfaction.
Recreation Aide Required Qualifications
Energetic, extremely enthusiastic, creative, takes initiative, works well with a team, enjoys working with elderly people.
Preferably 1+ years experience working in recreation with the geriatric/adult population.
Must be a team player with a compassionate, outgoing, and pleasant personality.
