Natural Resources Technician I, II, or III – Wildlife
City of Longmont offers a pay range based on experience within the Community Enrichment department. Positions will be filled on an “until filled” basis.
Pay Ranges
Tech I: $28.92 – $32.14 per hour
Tech II: $30.95 – $34.39 per hour
Tech III: $33.11 – $36.79 per hour
Schedule November to March: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm March to November: Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm (weekends or nights may be required)

Description of Positions
Tech I
– Entry‑level tasks in vegetation and wildlife management and grounds maintenance on city‑owned lands.
Tech II
– Advanced semi‑skilled and skilled duties with leadership development.
Tech III
– Expert‑level responsibilities with independent natural resource management and leadership roles.
Qualifications
Tech I
– Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in natural resource management; at least four years of college coursework preferred.
Tech II
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least two years progressive experience; must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License, certified pesticide applicator license, and may need a Qualified Supervisor license.
Tech III
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least four years progressive experience; must have the same optional certifications as Tech II.
Special qualifications for all levels include a valid Colorado driver’s license and a pesticide applicator license (Rangeland, Industrial, Right‑of‑Way, Aquatic, Turf, Ornamental). Optional Wildland Firefighting Type II certification, Qualified Supervisor license, and first‑aid/CPR/ATV/defensive‑driving training may also be required.
Selection Process Job description review, personal interview, physical abilities test, background investigation, criminal background check, and substance screening.
