Position Overview The CNC Machinist sets up and operates conventional, special‑purpose, and numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic prototype parts by evaluating machinability, designs, and builds special tooling to effectively produce parts to specification.
Responsibilities Operation of the CNC Haas machine, vertical milling station, grinder, and other equipment to produce quality, precision, cost‑effective machined parts on a production basis with minimal supervision. Setup and validate CNC programs utilizing Mastercam software. Perform setups and use probing to ensure accuracy and quality. Manufacture quality parts within specification on schedule. Perform one’s own first part, in‑process quality checks, cleaning, and deburring as necessary. Good communication skills. Other duties as assigned by manager. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2‑year Machine Tool degree or certificate preferred. Minimum 3 years CNC experience, preferably in a tool & die environment. Minimum 3 years programming experience preferably with Mastercam software. Proficiency using solid modeling tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.). Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read specifications; SolidWorks familiarity a plus. Knowledge of measurement equipment, tools, and gauges. A self‑starter who uses initiative and problem identification to find solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain CNC equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
