Automotive Technician A

Job Overview As an Automotive Technician A you will perform routine scheduled maintenance and basic repairs on automobiles and trucks. You will work closely with Service Advisors and managers to deliver quality service to AAA members and non‑members while maintaining a clean, organized shop environment.
Responsibilities
Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services and other routine maintenance procedures as directed by a Manager or Service Advisor.
Perform automotive repairs, adjustments, and advanced maintenance services including electrical repairs and diagnostic repairs.
Drive vehicles into the service bay, prepare them for digital vehicle inspection, and test drive vehicles to ensure accurate delivery to the customer.
Keep the shop clean and organized to provide a positive member and customer experience.
Mentor and train less experienced technicians.
Qualifications Required
High School diploma, GED or technical school certification.
Valid driver’s license.
5+ years of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools and technical resources and ability to perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance independently.
Ability to demonstrate proper use of repair equipment, tools, maintain a clean safe organized work area and provide exceptional customer service.
Preferred
ASE Certifications (A1–A8) with Master Technician designation or equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications.
ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist.
State inspection certificate where applicable.
AC 609 Certification.

Work Environment
May experience loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment.
Standing, walking and normal physical mobility, including reaching, grabbing, lifting and carrying automotive parts and equipment averaging up to approximately 80 pounds.
Own tools appropriate for skill level and work in the heat; some locations have no air conditioning, but fans are present in all facilities.
Maintain working on feet in a concrete facility for the entire shift.
