Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welder - 3rd Shift. Core hours are 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is $27.17 per hour. Please note the salary information is a general guideline; actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
What You’ll Do
Perform simple repetitive tasks and assembly of parts and components.
Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices.
Operate welding unit, perform minor adjustments, and weld both aluminum and steel.
Work under close supervision, may work from models, samples, or engineering drawings.
Remove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapers.
Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
Maintain 5‑S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
Track and sustain all visual management tools such as layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and other LEAN tools that are deemed necessary.
Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
Train on the following topics:
Introduction to material flow (set ups).
Understanding shop orders, part description, BOM, and inspection sheets.
Understanding engineering drawings to identify location and types of welds.
Operate welding units and make necessary adjustments.
Operate machinery and presses safely & proficiently.
Accurately read, interpret, & produce parts from blueprints and shop drawings.
Identify different gauges and types of raw material.
Accurately read tape measure, scales, & calipers.
Understand lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts used by Eaton.
Qualifications
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG).
Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment.
Experience identifying defects and measuring workpiece to ensure conformance.
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical limitation.

Preferred qualifications may include:
Previous experience with manufacturing fabrication.
Ability to weld aluminum and steel.
Experience with high‑volume, fast‑paced welding.
Position Criteria
Lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
Accurately measure components and products using tape measures & calipers.
Read engineering drawings.
Stand on feet continuously during the working shift.
Wear required personal protective equipment as per company policy.
Physical Demands
Regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance; occasionally lift more with assistance.
Repetitive lifting and movement of small and large products/components.
Exposure to high noise levels.
Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity.
Work environment may expose to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
