CNC Machinist - Lathe

Delta Gear is an aerospace company, an AS9100 and ISO9001 registered facility manufacturing gear products, prototype/production, and transmission builds. We provide contract gear and CMM inspection services, and are a NADCAP approved non‑destructive testing facility offering Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.
2nd Shift Position: Monday – Friday, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am (1–2 hrs daily overtime, some weekends).
Responsibilities
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters, interpreting GD&T.
Set‑up lathes by installing and adjusting three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, and tramming heads.
Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Perform basic maintenance of CNC lathes.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
CNC related certificate or degree a plus.
Able to lift 25–40 lbs.
Ability to use hand tools.
Experience with duel spindles, turn/mill, spindle transferring, and/or 3, 4, or 5‑axle machining a plus.
Work Environment
Must be able to lift 25–40 lbs.
Frequent standing, twisting, and bending.
