Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC Gear Hobing and Shaping equipment with minimal to no supervision Cutting gear and spline teeth and holding tolerances of between .001"-.0001" on lead and involute Run a CNC gear inspection machine along with micrometers, gages and amps Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor Verify part quantity with the job traveler Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications Load and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the traveler Determine when wheels need replacement Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED Ability to operate CNC machinery as required Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques preferred Prior experience with 1st piece and in-process inspection of work required Use inspection methods to determine size changes Understanding blueprints & travelers Work Environment
