Summary
The Basic Engineering Technician will have the opportunity to work on a variety of UAS prototypes and production platforms for military and commercial applications. The Basic Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting projects and programs with the construction, integration, component testing and maintenance of UAS platforms.
*This is a temporary position based on contract duration*
Responsibilities
Work independently to determine methods and procedures to execute engineering designs *short term we don't need this*
Perform simple testing and troubleshooting of UAS components *troubleshooting capability would be great, but not everyone needs to*
Use machine shop and laboratory tools (including soldering electronics) *not everyone needs to solder*
Assist in lab, ground, and flight testing
Identify operational challenges and repair faults on equipment
Monitor and tracking of tool and component inventory
Perform regular maintenance on equipment and machinery
Required Skills
Hand tools experience
Ability to read and execute design documents and technical drawings
Self-motivation, and committed to providing high quality work and attention to detail
Willingness to learn unfamiliar manufacturing techniques
Preferred Skills
Manufacturing Experience (3d printing, laser cutting, CNC, etc.)
General machine tool experience (drill press, mill, lathe, etc.)
Working with internal combustion engines
Soldering experience
Composite material construction experience
G-Code experience
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant Vocational Technical Certificate
Ability to obtain DoD sponsored Security Clearance
Physical Demands/Travel
Required use of machining toolsAbility to lift up to 50 lb.
Ability to work in a manufacturing/lab environment
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods (hot and cold)
Ability to support flex shifts when required ( Support travel within Oklahoma for flight testing/operations
Support CONUS travel for flight demo/operations
