We are seeking a highly skilled
Legal Secretary/Paralegal
to join our team. This hybrid role combines administrative expertise with substantive legal support for our busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast paced primarily remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide secretarial and paralegal support to multiple attorneys
Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents including motions, appeals, petitions, and discovery
Prepare and file court documents including e‑filing in compliance with deadlines and court rules
Maintain attorney calendars: schedule conferences, depositions, hearings, and track critical litigation dates
Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and trial notebooks
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of depositions, medical records, and discovery responses
Prepare subpoenas, authorizations and correspondence to obtain records
Assist with preparation of discovery requests/responses and notices
Communicate with clients, experts and medical providers
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of civil litigation experience; extensive calendaring and court filing experience in California
Certificate from an ABA approved program or associate degree in paralegal studies, minimum of 2 years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience with cloud based calendaring and court e‑files systems
Strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to multitask in a remote setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of legal terminology and litigation procedures
