Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant
LHH is partnering with a respected Jacksonville law firm to hire an experienced
Medical Malpractice Legal Assistant . This role supports multiple attorneys in a busy litigation practice, requiring strong organization, excellent communication, and the ability to handle sensitive, medically complex matters.
Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day litigation support, including drafting, formatting, and finalizing pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery responses, and case correspondence.
Maintain and organize case files, medical records, deposition transcripts, expert materials, and trial preparation documents.
Request, track, and follow up on medical records and billing information; assist in preparing medical summaries and chronologies.
Coordinate attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
Communicate with clients, medical offices, opposing counsel, and courts in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with e‑filing in state and federal courts and support attorneys through trial preparation, including creation of exhibits, witness lists, and binders.
Qualifications
At least 2–3 years of medical malpractice litigation experience is required.
Strong understanding of Florida civil litigation procedures and deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software, plus familiarity with electronic filing systems.
Strong attention to detail and reliable follow‑through on all assigned tasks.
